Are you ready to decorate eggs?

My dear friends! We can start online session in a convenient time but you should be prepared for master class.So you need:

Colouring solution + container  to dip eggs in solution;
Wax crayons (my students found out that Crayola works the best);
Candle on the plate or tray;
Stick with head pin in it;
Good to have loop to manage egg in colouring, but you can use a spoon for it;

First, and for youngest children may be used plain stick thin and ticker, if you have a pin with ball just push it in stick on top. Nail instead pin also works.

And, last but not least - warmer for wax.
Today, I was so exited to see that my students made it very easy:

Fill up the jar with water ( it will be more stable), and fix one or two spoons on top with tape. Than more spoons you fixed on top than more colours of wax you can melt.
Arrange warmer as showed on the picture and light candle. Put few small pieces of wax crayon in spoon and explore how it melt in a spoon. Wax should not boil, just melt.

When wax melted dip the stick in a wax and make a dots on the eggs. If possible use different colours of wax. wait until wax completely dry and dip the egg in liquid colouring. Keep few minutes, take out and dry with paper towel.

ENJOY YOUR WORK!

How to make tools and instruments for decorating Easter eggs.

Easter eggs - painting online!

My dear friends!

Today was such a wonderful sunny day, real spring! Bright green leaves of tulips show up from the moist black earth, the sky is so high and blue, and we are still locked in our homes, even more than before.
And yet, no matter how sad it is to sit at home, no one cancelled the wonderful spring holiday - Easter.
What does our Canadian children associate with this Holiday? Of course - colourful eggs!
You can paint paper eggs with markers, you can paint plastic eggs with paint ...
Or, you can try to paint real eggs with hot wax and, believe me - beyond all religious beliefs, this is a fascinating activity for children and adults.
Of course, this painting requires certain skills and special tools, but we will try to make it with any stuff available in any home. After all, did you stock up with colouring for eggs? Then everything else, I am sure, can be found at your home. We will try to conduct our online master class in a few days later. For the beginning, try to collect the necessary materials. You will need:
- stainless steel spoon (which is not used any more)
- a jar or a bottle with water
- paper tape
- candle
- wax crayons
- jars with liquid colouring for eggs
- any wooden stick
- pin with the ball
Wow ... well, that’s it!
Oh, I forgot - a toilet paper roll πŸ˜€ (did you stock up?) Or just napkins - to dry the eggs.
I ask everyone, who interested PM me your e-mail. Well, I think you have ZOOM installed.
It’s not difficult to paint eggs, even 4-5-year-old children are able to do this, of course, under the supervision of adults because we will work with a candle, open fire.
Tomorrow I will tell you how to prepare tools for our master class.
See you!

Easter beaded eggs

Throughout the ages, the egg has symbolized new beginnings, the spark of creation. Traditional folk religion regards the egg as a powerful symbol of fertility, purity and rebirth. Magic rituals often use eggs to promote fertility and restore virility (of the body and mind); and to foresee the future. Eggs mean growth, protection, new beginnings, resurrection. Trough the time craftsmen used to make a beautiful souvenirs eggs which were past from one generation to next one. There are wonderful  beaded eggs created by Ukrainian craftswoman. Each of the items has a unique design passionately developed by artist.
Material: glass beads and wooden inside. (it's safe for transporting)
It's a size of a regular egg.

I also would like to introduce them here just like a sample of my sister works.

Easter, Easter!

Surprisingly, today I found documentation from last year about our Easter activities. That really was fun, and I decided to post a few pictures, no comments, that was cast stuff, but you can do that easily with paper mashie and will have much more fun, because some those cast eggs were broken in process and children got upset. So make it, paint it,  cover with podge and decorate your house!

Typical Ukrainian pysanka :)

 Happy Easter!!!

Love it! So many different thing we can make with pipe cleaners!

Now - birds for bird curriculum.The first one is chicken. They making fun of me "Did you make a duck for Easter?" Ok, next week I will see your birds my dear students! Today I am looking for different bird's appearance which we will make with my children. Make it easy - small ball with pencil, big ball on the finger, two googly eyes, two pieces orange pipe cleaners for legs( that is probably why everyone call my chicken "duck") and piece red pipe cleaner for beak! Ta-da!

Easter chickens

Ok, Spring is coming and some spring things coming also with...This time we remind ourself that last year we made for Easter amazing project "Chicken-Mammy". we included different materials and techniques, and memories of that project were great. So, our children now 2-3 years younger  what they can do with that? EVEN BETTER than my Gr. 3-Th! Today I decided to post some pictures with our chicken
You will need:
Yellow tissue paper(a lot)
Styrol foam balls( you can use paper mashie balls made with newspaper and masking tape)
Red pipecleaners for legs
Two googly eyes for each chicken
Piece of red felt fabric for beaks.

Approximately time 45 min?
Let's go!

First cut tissue paper( you can also use yellow napkin) in squares.

Crumble it in small balls and glue it tightly on styrol foam ball surface. Yes, it is kind of boring but the result will surprise you!

 Bend red pipecleaner in half make "w" letter and twist ends; see the picture above?

Ta-da! Those are our chickens - three but around 20 coming soon on our chicken farm!

By the way while my children were making their chickens I tried to make a chicken with pipe cleaner....
Why everyone call my chicken "Duck"?

Last year my students made a chicken's Mom. Today  surprisingly I found some pages of documentation with it. In a process it looked like that:

Easter soon!

It is Ok to be different!

Spring is the time when many different cultures celebrate their events
such as Easter, Pesach. I have in my class(according to my Voluntare Questionnaire)
families who are celebrating Ester and one family, who are celebrating
Passover or Pesach.
My target was to explain children diversity people
who are living in Canada also as different events they are celebrating.
And That It is Ok to be different!
